A small apartment poses some challenges — the biggest of which is how to fit your entire life in a tiny space.

When you live in a small space, you can expect there to be lots of creativity in terms of ways to create the illusion of more space, as well as lots of shuffling around of furniture and seasonally swapping out pieces in your home.

Since living in a small apartment means that you’re short on space and likely need a reliable place to store your seasonal items and decor (because closet space is precious, and you really don’t need that ski coat in the middle of summer), let Closetbox help.

All you have to do is box up your items for storage. We’ll come pick up those boxes, and swiftly take them away to a safe and secure storage space where they’ll wait until you need them again.

With spring here, and Easter just around the corner, you’re probably struggling with how to decorate for this holiday with the little bit of space you’ve got.

Don’t worry — we’ve got you covered. Read on for tips on how to turn your small living space into Easter heaven.

Decorating your small space for Easter

Easter means many things, one of which is a fresh beginning.

This is the time of year that spring emerges — the flowers are blooming, the weather finally starts to warm up, and you feel as if you’re shedding your winter skin and are ready to say “hello” to a new you.

So why not bring that fresh feeling indoors and decorate your home to celebrate?

Right off the bat you’re probably thinking “but how can I decorate my small space? The last thing I want to do is make it feel even smaller by cluttering.”

We’ve scoured the internet for some of the best Easter decorating ideas that won’t make your small space feel crowded, but will rather open it up for the fresh new spring beginning you’re after.

Glitter Eggs

Stef of
Girl Inspired suggests blowing out some eggs, dying them, and popping some glitter on top to really make them shine.

Though blowing out the eggs sounds like a potential mess, it’s much easier than you think.

  1. Pierce a hole in each end of the egg
  2. Use something to tap it in (she suggests an embroidery needle and a small hammer)
  3. Once you’ve got the holes, stick the needle in and stir things around
  4. Grab a straw
  5. Blow through the straw into the egg, and watch as the egg’s insides pop out the other end
  6. Rinse the egg and let dry for a couple days

Once you’ve blown out the egg, simply dye as usual, and use either white glue or Mod Podge to throw on some glitter.

  6. Glue the bunny in the middle of the banner

Easter Candy Centerpiece

Love having fresh flowers in your place? Use a fresh bouquet of tulips or other Easter-y flowers as the perfect opportunity to bring some Easter decorations into your home.

Just pick yourself up some colorful candy such as jelly beans or Peeps, and add them to the vase.

The combo of the flowers and the candy scream “Easter,” with minimal effort and minimal space.

Tips to keep In mind

Here are some tips you’ll want to keep in mind when decorating your small space for easter.

  1. Incorporate color whenever possible. Easter and spring are all about colors. Get festive simply by bringing in pops of bright colors and pastels wherever you can in your home. It can be anything from a dish of candy, to a Easter-themed wreath.
  1. Plan for decor you can hang. When you’re short on space in your apartment, opt for Easter decorations that don’t take up real estate in your apartment, and that you can hang. From the banner above, to tissue paper carrot hangings and more, there are endless options for Easter decorations you can hang.
  1. It doesn’t have to big to make a statement. Some of the most liked decorations for holidays are the smallest. Bigger isn’t always better. Little details such as the glitter on the eggs can say a lot.

Decorating for Easter in your small home shouldn’t be stressful or difficult. With tips and ideas such as the ones shared above, you’ll have your place feeling oh-so Easter in just a matter of hours, without taking up your precious space.
